+

Delivery times vary based on your location and current demand. In most cases, we can schedule delivery within 2-5 business days. Rush deliveries may be available for an additional fee. We'll provide an estimated delivery date when you receive your quote.

What do I need to prepare for delivery?

+

To ensure smooth delivery:

  • Clear the delivery area of obstacles and vehicles
  • Ensure adequate space for the truck to maneuver (typically 12+ feet wide)
  • Mark underground utilities if delivery is over grass or soil
  • Verify that overhead clearance is sufficient (minimum 14 feet)
  • Consider ground conditions - soft or muddy areas may require special arrangements

Do I need to be present during delivery?

+

While not always required, we recommend being present or having a representative on-site to:

  • Direct the driver to the exact placement location
  • Answer any questions about the delivery
  • Inspect the material upon delivery
  • Sign for the delivery if required

If you cannot be present, we'll need clear instructions about placement in advance.

Material Selection

How do I choose the right gravel type?

+

The best gravel type depends on your specific application:

  • Driveways: Crushed stone or road base for durability
  • Landscaping: Pea gravel or river rock for aesthetics
  • Drainage: Clean drainage rock sized for water flow
  • Pathways: Decomposed granite or pea gravel for comfort
  • Base Material: Road base or crushed stone for stability

Visit our Gravel Types page for detailed information on each material.

What's the difference between crushed stone and gravel?

+

Crushed stone is mechanically broken into angular pieces with sharp edges that lock together, providing excellent compaction and stability. Natural gravel has been smoothed by water erosion into rounded shapes, which doesn't compact as well but works better for decorative applications and drainage. Choose crushed stone for structural applications and smooth gravel for landscaping.

Can you help me calculate how much gravel I need?

+

Absolutely! Each city page on our website features a free gravel calculator. Simply enter your project dimensions (length, width, depth) and select your material type. The calculator will provide estimates in both cubic yards and tons, plus approximate cost ranges. You can also contact us for assistance with more complex calculations.
